Prague Brewery Hotel

Hotel opposite Prague Castle. Brewery hotel along the north east-west axis of Prague and in near proximity of train station Dejvicke nadrazi. It is a place very hard to reach, however surrounded by infrastructure. It is an area bordering with urban structure of classic blocks from one side and from the other with the remains of the Pragues fortification, but cut away from those by rails or six lines of city highway. New junction built here made this whole area even more confusing for pedestrians. Therefore one of the goals for this project was to clarify clear pedestrian paths heading to Prague Castle through this area. That had a great impact on the design of the building, as well as changes currently taking place in hospitality industry. With transformation of our society our buildings needs to reflect that, and hotels are no exceptions.

One of the most difficult problems to solve within this project was to manage the urban flow around the building, particularly many tourists heading to Prague castle. That has reflected into unusual structural solution of structural truss roof construction from which the hotel is hanging down. Thanks to that the ground floor is very open.
